ROME—Marco Provera, executive vice president and CEO of Pirelli & C. S.p.A., received the medal of the Mexican Order "Aguila Azteca," the highest honor that the government of Mexico grants to foreigners in recognition of service.
The award acknowledges commitment to strengthening economic relations between Mexico and Italy, according to a Pirelli release. It also recognizes support of social and cultural initiatives, as well as his role as a co-chair of the Italy-Mexico Business Council.
The award was presented April 23 during a ceremony at the Mexican Embassy in Rome by Juan Jose Guerra Abud, ambassador of Mexico in Italy.
Pirelli has been present in Mexico since 2011 in Silao City in Guanajuato, with a facility that employs about 2,300 people and produces tires for the local and global market.
