FINDLAY, Ohio—Ginger Jones, chief financial officer of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., will retire as a full time executive.
In its news release issued April 9, Cooper did not provide specifics about when Jones would retire but said it would be sometime in 2018. She will remain in her current role until a successor has been named and will continue to serve the company throughout the transition process.
"Ginger has made important contributions to Cooper, including playing a key role in the development of our long-term strategy and business priorities," President and CEO Brad Hughes said in a statement. "While she is moving to another stage in her career, we are grateful that Ginger is fully committed to helping us deliver on our plans and assuring a smooth transition. We are pleased that she and her family plan to remain in the Findlay community, and we thank Ginger for the critical role she has played and will continue to play over the coming months."
Jones was appointed CFO in 2014 and said in a statement she intends to focus her time serving on public company boards of directors. She has served as a director for Libbey Inc. since 2013 and recently was appointed to a second public-company board.
"I look forward to my next chapter, but will remain fully engaged at Cooper throughout the search and transition process," Jones said in a statement.
Cooper said it has initiated a search for her successor, involving both internal and external candidates.
