SINGAPORE—Rising raw materials costs have led DSM to increase prices for its Arnitel co-polyester elastomer products, beginning April 1 or as contracts allow.
The global increase, of $227 per metric on COPE, is among a series of price increases across the DSM Engineering Plastics polymer portfolio and will affect several polyamide and thermoplastic polyester product customers.
The price hikes follow efforts to expand capacity at specialty polymers plants in Emmen and Geleen, Netherlands. In November, DSM said the expansion was a response to strong customer demand, and involved bringing a 25 percent Arnitel capacity expansion online in 2018
