With spring almost upon us, that means the rubber industry travel calendar will be in full swing for the next couple of months. And with time and budgetary constraints a way of life in business, it can be tough to decide which events to attend.
I know our editorial staff had to make some tough decisions in determining which meetings and conventions we can cover. The decision no doubt is just as difficult for each of you as you judge the merits of various events.
That being said, I'm here to take off my editor's cap and put in a sales pitch on why our upcoming International Silicone Conference—it takes place April 10-11 in the Akron suburb of Cuyahoga Falls—is worth your time and money. Rubber & Plastics News has organized the biennial technical conference and tabletop exhibit in conjunction with Shin-Etsu and Wacker Chemical, two of the leading names in the silicone world.
I'll start by saying the two-day event boasts two keynote speakers you won't want to miss. The first is Joe Walker of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies. He's had a long, storied career in the rubber industry. I've had the pleasure of both interviewing him and hearing him speak, and I'll guarantee you this: Joe tells it like it is and he doesn't pull punches.
