AUBURN HILLS, Mich.—Unique Fabricating Inc. will disclose its financials for 2017 on March 8, and likely reveal more details regarding its two previously announced site closures at that time.
The producer of multi-material foam, rubber and plastic components utilized in noise, vibration and harshness management for the automotive and industrial appliance market is in the process of closing two of its facilities—in Port Huron, Mich., and Fort Smith, Ark. In earlier releases, Unique said it would have more details during its year-end 2017 earnings conference call.
The combined moves will save nearly $1 million annually and affect 27 employees. Unique said it would provide severance and transition assistance to all employees involved. The firm projects costs incurred as a result of both closures to total between $250,000 and $550,000.
It also plans to sell its Fort Smith site, valuing it at $700,000.
