CRYSTAL, Minn.—The deadline for Twin Cities Rubber Group Scholarship submissions is March 5. The program includes a $500 scholarship each for high school seniors, undergraduate college students and members continuing education.

The completed application, required documentation, essay and nomination letter must be received by that date, according to a Twin Cities Rubber Group Inc. release.

Documentation includes, if applicable, an ACT or SAT score, a transcript, major declaration and proof of registration. Candidates must be nominated by a TCRG member in good standing, with membership defined as having attended at least one technical session in the last year.

Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Review Board consisting of the TCRG education committee chair, president, past president and two volunteer members. Selection is based on the criteria, and in the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a simple majority vote of the committee.

The scholarships are not required to be awarded every year.

The objective of the program is to encourage and promote higher education in science, technical, engineering and mathematics fields for TCRG members and their families by assisting with the escalating cost of a college and continuing education, said TCRG.

Completed applications can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].

    Technical meeting

TCRG will host a technical meeting March 8 at the Crowne Plaza/Minneapolis West, 3131 Campus Drive, Plymouth, Minn., 55441.

The technical session will last from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with dinner at about 6:30 p.m. and a business meeting following dinner. Cost for the dinner is $35.

Reservations and dinner choice must be received by March 5.

The meeting topic is "Practical RPA Tests for Production, Quality Control and Compound Development."

Reservations can be made by calling 763-568-0772 or emailing [email protected] or [email protected].

    Annual donations

TCRG also put out a request for 2018 annual donations, separate from normal meeting dinner fees.

The suggested donation schedule for 2018 technical and social events is: $40 for each technical session on March 8, Sept. 20 and Nov. 15; $55 for the social night June 2018; $75 for the golf outing Aug. 1.

A separate request will be made for skill hole donations for the TCRG golf outing.

Annual donations can be made with checks made out to The Twin Cities Rubber Group Inc. and mailed to Connie Brown, Twin Cities Rubber Group, C/O KP Services, 7011 Markwood Drive, Crystal, Minn., 55427.
