FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will highlight its silicone processing and medical device solutions during MD&M West, planned for Feb. 6-8 in Anaheim, Calif.
At its booth, No. 2819, Trelleborg will showcase its GeoTrans extrusion technology, which gives the firm the ability to vary the cross-section of a silicone extrusion in a continuous process without the need for secondary assembly, bonding or overmolding. GeoTrans also can be customized to produce a wide variety of options. These, Trelleborg said, include changes to the inside and outside diameter, differentiation in the wall thickness of tubes, bifurcation of lumen tubes and incorporation of grooved features for mating in assemblies or channels, such as in wound drains.
Trelleborg also will be emphasizing its silicone sheeting, which can be manufactured from a variety of materials such as high-consistency silicone rubber, liquid silicone rubber, gels, dispersions and adhesives. A number of silicones can be produced in multiple layers for a range of applications such as customer dermal adhesive gel product for wound management and scar reduction, Trelleborg said.
