ISTANBUL—Kordsa Inc., a Sabanci Holding subsidiary, recorded a new high level in patent applications in 2017, following on its previous record in 2016.
The company's number of patent applications totaled to 664 in 2017, with 167 inventions and 168 granted globally by the end of the year, according to a Kordsa release. Its patent portfolio grew by 60 percent, and its number of inventions increased by 14 percent.
Seventy-one percent of the inventions in 2017 were performed by the R&D Center in Izmit, Turkey, while 26 percent of the inventions were led by the R&D Center in Composite Technologies Center of Excellence.
In 2016, Kordsa had a total of 128 inventions, 407 patent applications and 121 approved patents.
