NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Goodyear rolled out a pair of new passenger tires at its 2018 Customer Conference in Nashville.
The Eagle Enforcer All Weather is designed for the police pursuit market, while the Assurance MaxLife, offers the highest-mileage rating in the company's history.
The Eagle Enforcer All Weather, which features an asymmetric tread pattern and multi-zone tread compounds, provides responsive performance for police vehicles in all weather conditions, according to the tire maker.
"This tire is for law enforcement agencies that need the enhanced winter traction of a mountain snowflake tire and the reliability and responsiveness of a pursuit tire," Andy Traicoff, vice president, North America sales, said.
Available in the most popular pursuit vehicle sizes in the market—265/60R17, 225/60R18 and 245/55R18—the tire features a soy-based rubber compound with silica for stable traction and enhancing tread life, as well as aggressive shoulder blocks and wide lateral grooves for "confident" maneuverability in all weather conditions, Goodyear said.
Bolstered by Goodyear's "TredLife" technology, the Assurance MaxLife is backed by an 85,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
Available in 45 sizes in 15- to 20-inch rim diameters, the MaxLife is targeted at owners of popular vehicles such as the Ford Escape; Toyota Camry, Corolla and RAV 4; Nissan Altima and Rogue; Honda Accord, Civic and CR-V; and Kia Sorrento, Goodyear said.
The tire also features a treadwear gauge molded into the tread that shows how much tread life remains as the tire wears, allowing drivers to track their tread depth by monitoring the wear gauge.
The MaxLife is the newest addition to Goodyear's Assurance family of tires, which debuted in 2004. Since then, Goodyear has sold more than 60 million Assurance tires, including the Assurance WeatherReady launched a year ago at the 2017 Customer Conference.
