NOVI, Mich.—Orotex Corp. is expanding its automotive production site in Novi.
The supplier of rubber soundproofing and vibration reduction materials for automotive original equipment manufacturers will invest $10.3 million to add infrastructure and 50 jobs. The firm chose to expand in Novi instead of a site in Tennessee and cited increased sales as the primary driver for the project.
The firm received a $250,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
"The Novi location keeps us close the technical centers of our customers," President Kenichi Miura said in a statement. "Our partnerships with these technical centers are crucial to developing and producing highly technical materials for the automotive industry."
Orotex is a subsidiary of Japan-based Iida Industry Co. Ltd.
