PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Mahr Inc. has released the MarOpto MT 100, the first of a new series of Fizeau interferometer towers for measuring optics directly in production.
Mahr supports its Fizeau interferometers with its proprietary Intelliwave software, which the firm claims will allow for easy measurement of both radius and form deviations. Guided measurement steps lead the user through the completion of the measurement.
The MarOpto MT 100 is designed for precision optics production up to the fourth diameter. Spheres and flats can be measured with lambda/20 accuracy, the firm claims. The Z axis covers 800 millimeters at a resolution of 0.5 µm for precision determination of the radius in the optic under test.
Other MarOpto measuring tower models will cover measuring areas from a half-inch (small table-top tower) to 12-inches (CNC stitching tower), Mahr said, adding that vertical tower solutions offer easy handling of lenses and quick measurement.
The firm's towers include internal vibration damping and utilize only a small footprint. Besides tests of form deviation, Mahr said towers with scales can measure radii with high accuracy as well. Motorized axes allow easy and fast operation and options are available for automation as well as dedicated analysis.
