MINNEAPOLIS—RT Dygert's HNBR compound, N-7003, was confirmed to be compatible with HFO-1234yf, the newest eco-friendly automotive refrigerant used by auto makers in the U.S. and Europe.
According to RT Dygert, N-7003 obtained excellent results when tested in both R134a/PAG oil and HFO-1234yf/PAG oil mixtures. It also obtained a "100 percent track record" when it was "test driven" with millions of O-Rings and custom molded parts already in use throughout the auto industry.
"HFO-1234yf meets EU and EPA requirements, has a global warming potential of 4 (versus 1,430 for R-134a), and is POE and PAG oil miscible," RT Dygert said in a statement. "It is an easy 'drop-in' replacement that requires minimal A/C system changes."
