MUTTENZ, Switzerland—Clariant International Ltd. will increase prices for all masterbatch and compound products containing titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and several additives.
The price increase, which could be as much as 8 percent, will depend on the grade, concentration and quality of the titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and additives, according to a Clariant release.
White, black and color additive masterbatches and compounds will be affected by the price hike, which also applies to the Remafin, Renol, Cesa, HiFormer and Mevopur brands.
The increase will be effective for all deliveries beginning Feb. 1, or as soon as contracts allow.
The price increase is due to the additional rise in prices of titanium dioxide, carbon black, pigments, dyes and additives driven by several factors, including supply-demand dynamics, ongoing capacity reductions in the pigment and dye industry and related increases in feedstock costs of several materials, Clariant said.
