LONDON—Fenner P.L.C. has appointed Brett Simpson as its new CEO. Simpson, who will succeed retiring CEO Mark Abrahams, is set to join Fenner May 1. At that point, Abrahams will step aside, but will be retained on a consultancy basis to help with the transition.
Simpson has been CEO of Low & Bonar P.L.C. since 2014. A qualified chemical engineer, he started his career at Dow Chemical Co. in 1986 and has extensive knowledge of polymers and industrial textiles from positions he has held in the U.S., China and Europe.
"With his industry background, track record and international experience he will bring deep strategic and commercial acumen and strong general management skills as we move Fenner into its next phase of growth," Fenner Chairman Vanda Murray said.
Murray also thanked Abrahams for his work, including his willingness to step back into the CEO role on short notice in January 2016. His leadership, Murray said, has "stabilized the group and… returned it to growth."
