The rubber industry is under-appreciated.
Until you spend time truly learning about the science behind the products that impact your life every day, or even pause to reflect on the number of ways the industry touches your life, it's easy to take it for granted.
That is, unless you're the parent of small child.
As the momma of an amazing, little 4-year-old boy, I have developed a true appreciation for silicone and its seemingly countless child care items and toys that make life a little easier for busy parents.
Among my favorite silicone child care products are teething necklaces. The concept is so simple, but it's brilliant. Understanding that little ones love to tug on mom's jewelry—and that anything a tot touches goes into his or her mouth—manufacturers designed necklaces with large silicone beads in a variety of shapes and sizes. The necklaces provide baby with a safe toy to tug on and chew on when in momma's arms, but it does so in a way that allows mom to dress up her outfit a little bit.
