NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. and the Nashville Predators NHL franchise have extended the naming rights for Bridgestone Arena for five more years, through 2025.
Bridgestone first negotiated naming rights for the Predators' home arena in 2010.
The businesses announced the extension as part of the ribbon-cutting for Bridgestone's new downtown Nashville headquarters, located across the street from the 20,000-seat arena. Financial terms were not disclosed.
"Bridgestone is a proud supporter of the Nashville Predators, and it continues to be a great source of pride for our company and our teammates to have the arena bear our name," said Gordon Knapp, Bridgestone Americas president and CEO .
"Now that our new headquarters building is located across the street from the arena, there's even more of a connection to our city and pro hockey team."
Predators CEO and President Sean Henry said, "It's only fitting that we also bolster our relationship with a world-renowned manufacturing and innovation leader who shares our commitment to the Nashville community."
Both executives pointed out the team and arena have become landmarks of a growing downtown Nashville.
The Predators, Stanley Cup finalists in 2016-17, were named the best franchise in sports by ESPN in 2017.
Bridgestone and the Predators agreed to the extension two years in advance of the conclusion of the previous five-year agreement signed in 2015.
