LYON, France—Solvay Performance Polyamides has introduced Technyl Red S, a highly heat stabilized polyamide designed specifically for high heat automotive applications.
According to Solvay, Technyl Red S can be used in operations with a continuous temperatures of around 400°F. The material can withstand temperatures of 392°F for 2,000 hours, or 410°F for 1,000 hours, making it ideal for turbo engine air ducts and coolers as well as cylinder head covers.
Further, the company claims, Technyl Red S improves strong impact and resistance to acid condensates, offers high flowability, superior surface aspect and excellent weldability.
