FULDA, Germany—Uth GmbH recently completed the construction of an 11,840-sq.-ft. assembly hall, as part of an investment program at its headquarters in Fulda.
The German machinery maker specializes in large machines for the gear-pump sector and fine mesh straining equipment for the rubber, tire and silicone industry.
The recently inaugurated unit, which takes the total area of the Fulda facility to around 107,650 square feet, was designed to the latest standards for simultaneous and flexible manufacture, according to Uth.
"Now, machinery weighing up to 25 (metric) tons can be moved," the firm said. "High product quality, ergonomics, sustainability and energy efficiency also play an important role."
New developments had placed increased demands on operational resources, Uth said in a Nov. 13 statement about the expansion.
"For example, our newly developed TRP (two-roll plasticizer) technology, weighted at 40 tons, is designed for the preparation of rubber compounds and had brought us to our capacity limits." managing director Peter Uth said.
He added that the company is committed to production in Germany, even though 80 percent of its output is exported and it has established branches in China and India.
"We want to continue producing and distributing quality machines worldwide which are made in Germany and meet the highest standards," Uth said. "We continuously focus on the R&D of our innovative products in order to further expand our position on the global market."
