INDIANAPOLIS—The Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers released its revised ARPM Sealing Systems Leakage Analysis Guide (OS-17).
The guide provides a universal language for rubber manufacturers and their customers for the selection of radial lip seals. It is designed to highlight the elements of a radial lip sealing system and assist in the proper specification of the element parameters, and also includes proper radial lip seal installation techniques, according to an ARPM release.
The publication was drafted and approved by the member representatives of the ARPM's Sealing Products Dynamic Technical Committee. Acknowledged for contributions in the development of the publication are the following companies: 3M Advanced Materials Division, AGC Chemicals Americas, Fiat Chrysler, Federal-Mogul Corp., Sealing Systems Group, Freudenberg-NOK, General Partnership, Ford Motor Co., Grace Technology and Development, Seals Eastern Inc., SKF Sealing Solutions, Solvay Solexis, The Chemours Co. Keeping with ISO standards, all ARPM technical standards are reviewed every five years to establish whether a revision is required to keep it current and relevant to the marketplace.
