JASPER, Ga.—Quality Synthetic Rubber's Jasper facility was recently awarded Ford Motor Co.'s Q1 certification, which is the OEM's standard for exceptional quality and customer satisfaction.
Ford awards Q1 to suppliers who demonstrate excellence beyond the ISO/TS certification requirements in five areas—capable systems, continuous improvement, ongoing performance, superior manufacturing process and customer satisfaction.
"Receiving this certification is the direct result of Jasper associates' hard work and commitment to quality," Freddy Walker, QSR Jasper quality manager, said in a statement. "I am very excited that the team's dedication has paid off in the receipt of the Q1 Certification since it's one of the most prestigious in the automotive industry."
Companies must simultaneously achieve the following to qualify:
100 percent on-time delivery and service;
Zero customer quality complaints/notifiactions and no open corrective actions;
Best-in-class PPM measures;
Q1 score must exceed 800 points out of 1,750, QSR said Jasper's score is 1,325; and
Written endorsements from Ford Manufacturing (each ship-to location), Ford Customer Service Division, Ford Supplier Technical Assistance, Ford Material Planning & Logistics.

QSR is a manufacturer of silicone and other elastomeric products for automotive ignition and electrical connection systems with manufacturing sites located around the globe. QSR's Jasper facility is the leading supplier of ignition insulator components into the North American automotive markets, both OEM and aftermarket. The firm said Jasper's products are found on more than 70 percent of all Ford vehicles built in North America.
