VIENNA—The Semperit Group built on the success of the Semperflex segment by further expanding the Semperflex Optimit plant in Odry, Czech Republic. The company enhanced the capacity of its largest hydraulic hose factory by about 30 percent with an investment of about $23 million, according to a company release.
The expansion provides additional jobs in the high double-digit range, the company said.
Demand for Semperit's hydraulic hoses is so high that the company had to start its next expansion step immediately after having put the latest expansion stage into operation in the first half of 2015, said Martin Fuellenbach, CEO of Semperit A.G. Holding.
"By further expanding our factory in Odry, we are creating the necessary capacities to continue fully meeting our customers' demand and to secure our growth path on the production side," said Fuellenbach.
With the recent expansion, Semperit has completed the third expansion stage at the Odry site within three years. Construction started in summer 2016. Additional hydraulic hose capacities will be available by the beginning of 2018, Semperit said.
