CHICAGO—The Power Transmission Distributions Association elected its 2018 Board of Directors and Manufacturer Council at the annual business meeting during the NIBA/PTDA Joint Industry Summit in Hollywood, Fla.
Jim Williams, vice president of corporate purchasing and supplier relations for Motion Industries Inc. in Birmingham, Ala., will become PTDA's president in 2018. He succeeds Tom Clawser. Williams has been active in PTDA since 2005, when he joined the Motion Control Task Force. A past chair of the Programs & Products Committee, Jim has served on the PTDA Board of Directors since 2015.
Joining Williams on the 2018 PTDA board of directors will be: as first vice president, Jim Halverson, manager of power products of Van Meter Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; as second vice president, Brian Davis, vice president of B & D Industrial in Norcross, Ga.; as treasurer, LeRoy Burcroff, vice president of sales of Bearing Service Inc. in Livonia, Mich.; as manufacturer council chair, Chris Curran, president of Climax Metal Products Co. in Mentor, Ohio; as manufacturer council vice chair, Sandy Sullivan, national account director of Nidec Motor Corp./U.S. Motors in St. Louis; as PTDA Foundation president, Brian Short, corporate account manager of NSK Americas in Ann Arbor Mich.; and as EPTDA president, Jan Friman, director business development of YTM Industrial Oy in Vantaa, Finland.
Directors will include: J.P. Bouchard of General Bearing Service Inc. in Ottawa, Canada; Steven DuComb, operations manager at W.C. DuComb Co. Inc. in Detroi; President Brian Kolman of Brewer Machine & Gear Co. in St. Louis; Mike McLain, vice president of Allied Bearing & Supply Inc. in Harahan, La.; Bill Shepard, vice president SW region and marketing of BDI in Cleveland; Tom Weihsmann, senior vice president and general manager of Kaman Industrial Technologies Corp. in Bloomfield, Conn.
Curran, president of Climax Metal Products Co. in Mentor, Ohio, assumes the duties of the PTDA Manufacturer Council chair in 2018, succeeding Michael Cinquemani, president and CEO of Master Power Transmission Inc. in Greenville, S.C. Curran has been active in PTDA governance since 2004 when he joined the Employee Development Committee. Since then, Curran has served on several committees and chaired both the Employee Development Committee and the 2012 Industry Summit Planning Committee. He joined the Manufacturer Council in 2014, where he served as vice chair in 2017.
Joining Curran on the Manufacturer Council for 2018 will be: as vice chair, Sandy Sullivan, national account director of Nidec Motor Corp./U.S. Motors in St. Louis, and as immediate past chair, Cinquemani.
