BREA, Calif.—M.R. Mold & Engineering opened its doors to more than 300 students, faculty and parents to tour the company's facility for its Manufacturing Day.
Students studying engineering, CAD and other technical courses from eight Brea-area schools came to the facility, according to a company release. R.D. Abbott, a material supplier to the rubber industry, partnered with M.R. Mold to educate the students on the chemistry of liquid silicone rubber, its processing and applications.
Students also learned about engineering and mold flow analysis, advancing through the machine programming and cutting processes and the actual molding of products.
As a result of the Manufacturing Day, M.R. Mold is working with local schools to set up a shadowing program and internships for students, according to a company spokeswoman.
