AKRON—Jeff Andrasik, product testing manager and senior test engineer for Smithers Rapra, will deliver a presentation on product durability testing at the 2017 Automotive Testing Expo in Novi, Mich., on Oct. 25.
Andrasik will present "Product Durability Testing through Vibration, Shock and Environmental Conditioning," which will cover the types of testing commonly used to evaluate products to industry or original equipment manufacturer specifications, while benchmarking against previous iterations or competitive products.
Topics addressed in the presentation include: products that require extensive durability testing, types of vibration and mechanical shock testing, environmental conditioning and thermal shock testing, and common testing standards.
Andrasik is responsible for developing and executing a variety of test programs for Smithers Rapra, including pressure, vibration, and temperature specifications on automotive industrial, aerospace, nuclear and consumer products. He has more than 10 years of experience testing rubber and plastic components, part and products against common industry and governmental standards including ASTM, ISO, SAE, Fed, MIL, FDA and automotive OEM specifications.
