EINDHOVEN, Netherlands—A team of 38 mountain bikers and 14 support team members from VMI Group participated recently in the seven-day Duchenne Heroes mountain bike tour. The team raised about $112,000 for the Duchenne Parent Project, which is dedicated to funding research that aims to treat and cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle disease.
The Duchenne Heroes event involved seven days of mountain biking, and traversed a 310-mile, off-road route through Saarland, Germany, and Vulkaaneifel, Luxembourg. The route also went over tracks in the Ardennes of Belgium, and finished in Eindhoven.
The VMI team was the largest team in the 12-year history of the Duchenne Heroes, and it contributed to the more than $1.2 million raised for Duchenne Parent Project this year.
