WILMINGTON, Del.—DuPont Performance Materials customers can now purchase DuPont Hytrel thermoplastic elastomer and DuPont Zytel nylon-based filaments for 3D-printing in the U.S., Canada and Mexico through Coex L.L.C.
DuPont 3D printing products can be used for rapid functional prototyping, parts production, tooling and customization in sectors of the industry such as automotive, electronics, footwear and consumer goods.
Hytrel is available in two different hardness levels (Hytrel 3D4000FL with a shore D of 40 and Hytrel 3D4100 with a shore D of 60) for 3D printing. Mechanical properties of 3D-printed parts in all directions using Hytrel grades are comparable to injection molding, according to a company release.
Parts printed with Zytel have strong, stiff, functional parts, and high heat deflection temperature, low warpage and low sensitivity to moisture, according to the release.
