CARRICK-ON-SHANNON, Ireland—Freudenberg Medical is continuing along its growth path, this time in Ireland.
The firm is investing about $10.7 million to add 45,000 square feet and four ISO Class 7 clean rooms to its VistaMed joint venture in Carrick-On-Shannon. The clean rooms account for about 17,000 square feet, and additional supplemental equipment includes new extrusion lines, specialized lines for high tolerance extrusion, additional braiding capabilities and catheter assembly stations, as well as other assembly operations.
"Freudenberg has defined medical as one of its core growth markets to invest in," Freudenberg Medical CEO Max Kley said. "It's been very optimistic when it comes to the overall growth of the medical device market. Especially the segment that VistaMed operates in, that's growing at an accelerated pace."
