MIDLAND, Mich.—Dow Corning Polyurethane Additives will be incorporated into the Dow Polyurethanes portfolio under the Vorasurf Polyurethane Additives brand name.
Under DowDuPont Materials Science Division, Vorasurf will serve the ComfortScience, InsulationScience and DurableScience markets of Dow Polyurethanes, helping to meet growing demand for products like bedding, spray foam and footwear, according to a company statement.
The addition will include more than 100 DowCorning PUA products to the polyurethanes portfolio, expanding a toolbox of silicone surfactants for high-performance polyurethane foam, according to Richard James, global segment leader for polyurethane additives.
The transition to the Vorasurf brand name will begin in November 2017 and will be fully transitioned by the end of 2018. All Dow Corning PUA products still will be offered, and updated product names will feature Dow Corning's "DC" and retain the original product grade numbers.
Dow officially will launch the product name change and the Dow Corning surfactants portfolio at the annual Center for Polyurethanes Technical Conference, Oct. 2-4 in New Orleans.
