TITTMONING, Germany—Gummiwerk Kraiburg Elastik GmbH & Co. K.G. recently expanded capacity for the production of rubber mats with the addition of a new production hall at its site in Tittmoning, Germany.
The $12 million expansion project features the addition of a new press able to produce up to 7.5 million square feet of rubber mat each year. This lifted annual capacity at the Bavarian site to 27 million square feet of the animal-welfare product.
The press has seven stacks, which means that seven different types of matting can be produced at the same time. Downstream operations include water-jet cutting of pressed mats to the final size, often to individual customer requirements.
According to Kraiburg, the new unit is equipped with advanced low-noise and ventilation technologies together with modern waste-air purification and heat recovery systems.
The expansion has created 16 new jobs, with more to follow, according a Kraiburg statement.
