SINGAPORE—Zeon Asia, part of Japanese specialty company Zeon Corp., opened its Asia technical support laboratory (ATSL) in Singapore to support markets in the region.
In a Sept. 6 statement , Zeon said the new technical center would offer technical support for specialized rubber in rapidly growing markets in ASEAN and India.
The facility is up in the Singapore science park known as the Galen, which was specially designed for chemicals, life sciences and IT companies. It also is Zeon's fourth technical support base. The others are located in Japan, Europe and China.
According to Zeon, the lab will support technical developments and tests for automotive products in the region, where internal combustion engines are expected to remain mainstream and car production is set to increase significantly.
The Japanese company's specialty rubber materials are used in automotive parts, including timing belts, oil resistant hoses, oil seals and gaskets.
