MOSCOW—Sibur increased its elastomers production volumes by 11.3 percent year-on-year in the first six months of 2017, the Russian petrochemicals major said in a first half results statement.
On the back of improved demand, sales volumes of elastomers at Sibur increased by 4.3 percent year-on-year to 238,000 metric tonnes, the firm said in a press release.
Overall revenues from sales of plastics, elastomers and intermediates for the period ended June 30 increased by 14.4 percent to $1.3 billion,
The segment's sales increase mainly was due to a "favorable market environment" for elastomers, Sibur said.
Production of plastics, elastomers and intermediates came in 2.9 percent higher at 2.97 million tons, the report added.
Earnings (EBITDA) at Sibur's Plastics, Elastomers & Intermediates segment in the first six months inched up 0.6 percent year-on-year.
