UNIONTOWN, Ohio—ChemSpec Ltd. developed an exclusive lab that utilizes FTIR equipment for chemical analysis.
Ace Products and Consulting served as a partner on the project, ChemSpec said in a statement, adding that the investment in FTIR equipment will expand opportunities for its customers.
The lab allows ChemSpec to test product upon arrival from its suppliers, provide IR curve reports to customers in a timely fashion, and gives ChemSpec the ability to work on new product development for customers that rely on its technical guidance.
Equipment includes an infrared spectroscopy that provides an easier way to identify the presence of certain functional groups in a molecule for organic chemistry. ChemSpec said the analysis also can use the unique collection of absorption bands to confirm the identity of a pure compound or to detect the presence of specific impurities.
Based in Uniontown, ChemSpec is a chemical distribution firm and a subsidiary of Paris-based Salfic-Alcan.
