Freudenberg offers new services, material

WEINHEIM, Germany—Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has unveiled an expanded service and a new polyurethane.

Dubbed Freudenberg Xpress, the new service provides 24-hour seal replacement solutions to customers and has expanded to address the needs of food and beverage customers. Part of this expansion includes the availability of a new, large sealing welding process and a food-grade polyurethane.

The welded seals are based on turned or extruded seal profiles made from original Freudenberg polyurethane materials. FDA compliant materials are also available. Its thermoplastic polyurethane can be used in a wide range of temperatures with excellent material properties, Freudenberg said.

"Welded seals from Freudenberg Xpress offer clear advantages over traditional solutions from competitors," the firm said in a statement. "Competitor components rely upon the use of industrial adhesives or outmoded, imprecise welding techniques. While their production costs are lower, a decline in quality is the result. By contrast, Freudenberg's advanced production process yields high-quality welded seams that offer outstanding quality and a long seal lifespan."

In addition, Freudenberg Xpress is now handling its 94 AU 21730 polyurethane, an original high performance polyurethane developed by the firm. Thanks to a recent global certification, the material can be used in hygienic applications in the process industry.
