What do you love most about your job?
Every day there is something new to experience within the off-highway segment. One day I may be visiting a farmer at his dairy operation, and the next I am out with an OTR customer tracking performance at an underground mine.
How has working in the rubber industry broadened your view of the world?
Having been with BKT for three years now, I have made multiple trips to our manufacturing facilities in India. Being given the opportunity to see a part of the world that most never do has been an incredible experience. In terms of the overall outlook of the rubber industry, it has been awesome to see all of the ways tires are shaping the way people do their jobs. With all of the new research and technology being put into tires, we are able to improve crop yields for farmers and improve performance and safety in mines.
How did your company sell the rubber industry to you during the recruiting/hiring process?
This was ironically done by my mother. After my initial interview, I was not sure that I wanted to take a job in the industry. After having a conversation with her about my reservations, she told me to look outside at all the tires on the road. The conversation ended there and I took the job.
Other interests: Loudan is a huge Cleveland sports fan and owns a Doberman Pinscher named Willow.
