ST. LOUIS—Accella Tire Fill Systems, a division of Accella Performance Materials Inc. and a manufacturer of eco-friendly polyurethane tire fill, has planted more than 142,000 new trees in its continued partnership with American Forests, a non-profit organization. Accella teamed up with customers, aftermarket dealers and distributors around the world for the effort to help restore forests destroyed by natural disasters.
The initiative is part of the company's "One Tote, One Tree" green campaign, through which one tree is planted for every tote of Accella's tire fill product purchase, according to a company statement.
For 2017, Accella's donation helps American Forests in its work with the U.S. Forest Service to plant more than 40,000 whitebark pines in Shoshone National Forest, part of the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem in Wyoming.
