UNIONTOWN, Ohio—ChemSpec Ltd., a member of the Safic-Alcan Group of companies, will celebrate the first anniversary of its subsidiary, ChemSpec Mexico S. de RL de C.V.
The unit was formed in August 2016 to serve the rapid growth of automotive manufacturing in Mexico, specifically in the central states, according to a company statement. Based in Queretaro, ChemSpec Mexico has additional warehousing and logistics business support in Laredo, Texas.
A management-owned distributor of specialty chemical additives and specialty elastomers for many polymer compounding and cosmetic market ingredients, ChemSpec Mexico focuses on sales and technical support to the elastomer compounding industry, notably for tire and technical rubber production in the region. It also supports other Mexican coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers and plastics manufacturing segments.
"Our move into Mexico a year ago aligned with Safic-Alcan's overall strategy of growing its presence across the NAFTA region," ChemSpec President Dave Moreland said in a statement. "Additionally, ChemSpec has always done its best to follow market trends so that we can better service our customer base."
Over the past year, customers have responded positively to local support, allowing ChemSpec to support its clients while promoting overall growth, Moreland said.
