NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Hankook Tire America Corp. renewed its commitment to Disabled American Veterans, which provides free services to veterans of all generations where they live.
In the third year of its partnership with DAV, Hankook donated $150,000 to support DAV's Mobile Service Office program, and launched its Hankook Heroes program.
"Hankook Tire is proud to continue its partnership with DAV for a third consecutive year," said Hee Se Ahn, Hankook Tire America Corp. president. "We are honored to help provide American veterans with access to the benefits and services they deserve."
A significant percentage of Hankook employees are U.S. military veterans, according to the statement.
As a part of the Hankook Heroes recognition program, Hankook is requesting visitors to HankookHeroes.com to share stories about why veterans are heroes to them. All submissions will be entered for a chance to receive a set of Hankook tires. A second set of Hankook tires will be donated to DAV for use on one of its MSO vehicles.
Hankook expanded its sponsorship of DAV's MSO program to six stops, to better reach veterans across the country. MSO vehicles bring free services such as assistance filing claims for Veterans Affairs benefits directly to veterans where they live. Locations for MSO vehicles include:
- Black's Tire in Fayetteville, N.C.—Aug. 15
- Discount Tire Center in Yucca Valley, Calif.—Aug. 18
- ESS Automotive in Mentor, Ohio—Aug. 23
- CJ's Tire in Fairless Hills, Pa.—Sept. 26
- Gateway Tire in Clarksville, Tenn.—Oct 20
- Russo Tires in Doral, Fla.—Oct. 30
Hankook and DAV also will co-sponsor all five Cincinnati Red Military Appreciation Days throughout the 2017 baseball season.
