MONTREAL—Movin'On, Michelin's international sustainable mobility conference which covers a wide range of transportation and technological issues, will return to Montreal in 2018, Michelin President Jean-Dominique Senard announced at the end of the 2017 Movin'On June 15.
Michelin did not give exact dates for the 2018 Movin'On, but said the June 13-15 conference—a successor to the Challenge Bibendum events held 12 times since 1998—was a resounding success.
"The news is a testament to the dynamic and innovative character of the city," Michelin said in a press release.
"To build on the success of the first edition and further develop the elements that are at the heart of the Movin'On event, the 2018 edition will bring back, namely, conferences by industry experts and inspirational leaders, collaborative initiatives boasting innovative methodologies, as well as immersive activities relating to sustainable mobility," the tire maker said.
More than 4,000 attendees from 31 countries participated in the 2017 Movin'On, according to Michelin.
Some 40 startup companies and 105 partners, including universities, governments and research institutes, worked with Michelin on the event, the tire maker said.
The conference featured 80 speakers, 48 workshops and master classes, and 21 advanced technology vehicles for the Ride & Drive portion of the event, according to Michelin.
