HANOVER, Germany—ContiTech rolled out a range of intelligent products to support "digital transformation in the industrial sector" during the Hanover Fair, April 24-28.
"Intelligent factories, interacting machines and connected equipment will be some of the essential building blocks along the entire industrial value chain," ContiTech CEO Hans-Juergen Duensing said in a press release for the trade show.
Equipment monitoring is a particular focus for Contitech, Duensing said, noting that customers are increasingly investing in "preventative maintenance concepts" and using digital products and services in order to avoid downtime.
The Hanover-based group is "working flat out" to develop new technologies, systems and apps to help monitor machines for potential failures. These include intelligent drive belts in the future that can supply information about the status of belts in real time.
"This [drive belt] increases efficiency and operating safety, improves capacity planning and reduces costs significantly," ContiTech's statement added.
Other show highlights include ContiTech's new intelligent air springs. Equipped with sensor technology, these units can supply up-to-date data for control, monitoring and maintenance purposes.
ContiTech's portfolio of digital offerings also includes smartphone apps for iOS and Android systems. These include an "evolution" of ViProtect app which measures vibrations and simplifies the designing of elastic bearings.
