CENTER VALLEY, Pa.—Avantor Performance Materials L.L.C. has acquired Puritan Products, a supplier of high-purity chemicals for research and electronic materials.
Avantor said in an April 20 news release that the deal provides its customers an additional layer of supply chain security. It added that there will be no short-term changes for Puritan Products' customers as they will continue to have access to the same brands they did before.
"Existing contracts will continue to be governed by their terms," CEO Michael Stubblefield said in a statement. "In addition, customers will be able to work with the same account and customer service representatives they've come to know."
He added that Avantor will begin integrating Puritan Products immediately.
"The Puritan business complements Avantor's platform very well, particularly the focus on quality manufacturing and regulatory compliance, two areas that are critical in the life science industry," Stubblefield said.
Avantor is a global supplier of ultra-high-purity materials for the life sciences and advanced technology markets. The company provides performance materials and solutions for the production and research needs of approximately 7,900 customers across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics, aerospace, defense and semiconductor industries.
