PUNE, India—H.B. Fuller Co. has opened a new office and research and development center in India.
The additions mark the conclusion of the first phase of its $20 million investment in India, which the firm says strengthens its commitment to the region.
The new office, located in Pune, employs 50 people in customer support and administrative roles. H.B. Fuller has had a local presence in India since 2011 through its manufacturing site in Shirwal, India. The site houses the firm's new R&D center, which spans 5,000 square feet. The center features dedicated areas to conduct experiments, run demonstrations and train customers on its hot melt, water-based, anaerobic and cyanoacrylate technologies.
The 24,000 metric tons per year plant is located about 40 miles from Pune.
"We are pleased to be expanding our footprint in India. We are optimistic about the new opportunities our new business office and R&D center will provide us, and our customers," H.B. Fuller CEO Jim Owens said in a statement. "By having a state-of-the-art facility and adhesive experts on the ground in India, we will help accelerate innovation in the region and help drive customer performance."
H.B. Fuller reported $2.1 billion in fiscal 2016 net revenue and is headquartered in St. Paul, Minn.
