SANTA ANA, Calif.—Yokohama Tire Corp.'s Onomichi, Japan, factory has received Caterpillar Inc.'s premier supplier award, the Platinum Level Recertification in its Supplier Quality Excellence Process. The YTC factory produces original equipment and replacement off-the-road tires for a range of Caterpillar offerings.
This also marks the fifth consecutive year that Yokohama has received the heavy-duty equipment and machinery maker's award, which honors those suppliers that show excellence in manufacturing and a continuous desire to improve the quality of its products and services, according to Yokohama.
"Once again, we're extremely honored to receive Caterpillar's Platinum Level Recertification," Andrew Zeisser, YTC director, OE Sales, said in a news release. "Earning an award like this five years running from a world-class OEM like Caterpillar is a true testament to Yokohama's global commitment to deliver best-in-class quality products and service."
YTC is the North American manufacturing and marketing arm of the Tokyo-based Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. (YRC), which this year is marking its 100th anniversary.
YRC manufactures a range of tires for high-performance, light truck, passenger car, commercial truck and bus, and off-the-road mining and construction applications. Additional information is available online at www.yokohamatire.com.
