DYERSBURG, Tenn.—The Dyersburg manufacturing facility of Firestone Industrial Products has won its third Volunteer STAR Award from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
STAR stands for Safety Through Accountability and Recognition, and the Volunteer STAR Award recognizes "the best of the best" in safety and health programming and performance, according to a Firestone Industrial Products press release issued March 15.
"The Volunteer STAR Award is a testament to the Dyersburg teammates' commitment to creating a safe work environment, and is a shining example of Firestone's core commitment to safety first, always," said Jim DeMouy, vice president, environmental, health, safety and sustainability for Bridgestone Americas.
There are 37 Volunteer STAR workplaces in Tennessee, including Firestone Industrial Products in Dyersburg and the Bridgestone Americas tire plant in Warren County, Tenn.
