HAMBURG, Germany—Advanc3d Materials GmbH has developed a new TPU that it claims is the most stretchy material available for the selective laser sintering process. It can be used on most printers that operate below a printing temperature of 100°C.
AdSint TPU80shA is manufactured using the company's proprietary synthesis technology. It has a very high elongation at break, at 600 percent, which results in an extremely stretchy material, the company said. The spherical particles lead to a smooth surface and it offers good chemical and abrasion resistance.
Typical applications include shoe soles, orthopaedic models, hoses, tubes, seals and wheels. It is available in 70-ounce bottles and 22-pound bags.
