WASHINGTON—Mike DuCharme, vice president of product marketing at Carlisle Construction Materials, has been named the new chair of the EPDM Roofing Association by the group's board of directors.
He replaces Jennifer Ford-Smith, director of marketing and single ply product management at Johns Manville, who completed her two-year term and will remain on the board.
This is DuCharme's second stint as chair, previously holding the position from 2010-11. He has worked with ERA since its founding more than a decade ago, the firm said in a Feb. 2 news release. He began his career at Carlisle in 1983 and is an active member of the ERA's technical committee, helping to shape studies on EPDM recycling, the hail-durability of EPDM and the long-term service life of EPDM.
"We are very fortunate to have Mike leading our efforts," Ellen Thorp, associate executive director of ERA, said in a statement. "He is widely respected in the roofing industry and his depth of knowledge about EPDM will help ERA to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment."
ERA solely represents the manufacturers of single-ply roofing products and their leading suppliers.
