LYON, France—Amid all the price increases for new tires, French used tire collection and management company Aliapur has signaled some stability, at least in the recycling arena.
Aliapur revealed that eco-contribution will remain unchanged for all categories of tires for 2017. The levy remains at about $1.33 for all passenger car tires, which account for two thirds of the total annual collection.
The decision maintains the levy at the levels of the last two years, which marked a continuation of a steady decline in the eco-contribution for over a decade. This, said an Aliapur statement, reflects how tire recycling in France in now structured efficiently.
Alipaur also signaled its intention to achieve further optimization, for example in the areas between manual collection and collection in skips, as well as finding new ways to recycle tire rubber.
