SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—Carlisle Companies Inc. has acquired Arbo Holdings Ltd., a purchase the Scottsdale-based Carlisle said will complement its European EPDM roofing business.
Arbo is based in Belper, England, where it produces a range of sealants, coatings and other building envelope products for the United Kingdom and European construction markets for waterproofing and air and vapor barrier applications. The privately held firm has annual sales of about $14 million and employs 72, according to Carlisle.
The business will operate as a unit with Carlisle Construction Materials, a maker of a complete range of roofing and waterproofing products for commercial and industrial buildings, including single-ply roofing.
"The acquisition of Arbo complements our leading position in EPDM roofing systems in Europe and adds new products to our weatherproofing offerings used to improve the thermal performance of buildings," said D. Christian Koch, Carlisle's president and CEO."
He added that Arbo gives Carlisle additional sales channels for its existing product as well as a strong foundation to boost Arbo's business throughout Europe.
