ORLANDO, Fla.—Goodyear unveiled a significant expansion of its Total Solution network for truck fleet operators at the 2017 Goodyear Customer Conference in Orlando Jan. 30-Feb. 1.
Goodyear's Total Solution is a nationwide network that offers fleet owners a wide range of Goodyear products, reliable service and fleet management tools that help them lower their operating costs, the company said.
Among the new and improved Total Solution offerings for 2017 are:
A wide range of products, including the Goodyear Endurance LHD premium long-haul tire; three new, SmartWay-approved Kelly Armorsteel long-haul tires; the Goodyear Endurance WHA waste haul tire with its matching Endurance WHA retread; the Goodyear Endurance RSA and Fuel Max RSA for regional fleets; the Goodyear Marathon long-haul tire line; the Goodyear Workhorse mixed-service tire line; and Goodyear UniCircle retreads.
Goodyear's nationwide service network, which encompasses more than 2,300 tire and service locations including authorized Goodyear commercial tire dealers.
The 24/7 Goodyear-Fleet HQ Emergency Roadside Service program, offering quick service to truckers immobilized by road hazards, and including the Smart Tech App to facilitate service.
New fleet management tools, including a new service management tool built upon the Smart Tech App that offers Goodyear dealers a live dashboard that reports the location and status of their road service technicians. Goodyear said it will add Bluetooth capabilities to the tool, which will enable road service technicians to check and record fleet tire data electronically.
The new management tools streamline roadside service in important ways, according to Jose Martinez, Goodyear commercial digital and solutions manager.
They eliminate note taking by hand, and also record month-to-date and year-to-date service calls, according to Mr. Martinez. Above all, they significantly shorten "roll times"—the time from when a service technician is first contacted to when service is completed.
"Using the app, the average roll time is now two hours, five minutes," Martinez said. "There is a 9-percent decrease in roll time when the app is used."
