WAKEFIELD, Mass.—Alliance Tire Group has added a skid-steer tire with a massive block tread pattern, the Galaxy Hulk Deep-Tread SDS, to its line of severe duty solid tires.
The Hulk Deep-Tread SDS is targeted at customers that operate in severe duty situations, ATG said, such as waste-handling facilities, scrap metal yards, steel mills, rock quarries, dairy farms and other sites where puncture and excessive wear are constant challenges.
The new tire, available in two sizes—30x10-16 and 33x12-16, with and without apertures—complements the company's Beefy Baby and Yardmaster lines.
ATG claims the solid Hulk "virtually eliminates" downtime, increases load capacity and more than doubles tire life, according to Seth Walters, Manager-Special Product Programs for Alliance Tire Americas.
The tire's chevron-and-block pattern is designed to provide improved self-cleaning properties while delivering long service life on all surfaces with its high 68 percent rubber-to-void ratio, Walters said.
ATG is a subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
