DALLAS—Goodyear, sponsor of the annual Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, commissioned tire artist Blake McFarland to handcraft one-of-a-kind sculptures of the participating teams' mascots—the Western Michigan University Bronco and University of Wisconsin's Bucky Badger.
McFarland, a former Major League Baseball pitcher, used 800 pounds of tire treads and other parts stripped from 500 tires donated by Goodyear for the sculptures. It took him and his assistants 300 man-hours to complete the works of art, which will be donated to the schools. (Video courtesy of Goodyear)
